This workshop introduces you to the concept of entrepreneurship and its component parts (entrepreneur, opportunities, process, organization and environment). It allows you to explore your personal traits, characteristics, education, experience and skills through the lens of potential entrepreneurship. Finally, the workshop shares stories of successful entrepreneurs.
At the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
*Discuss the importance of entrepreneurs in local and national economies.
*Notice entrepreneurs all around you.
*Identify the components of a model of entrepreneurship.
*Discuss different types of enterprises.
*Discuss the components of a model of entrepreneur: personal traits/characteristics, education/ experience and skills/competencies of entrepreneurs.
*Evaluate your own personal traits/characteristics, education/experience and skills/competencies.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Abdullah Al Qayyim is an activist, technologist, and award-winning social innovator who lives in Canada. He founded several initiatives and worked in the US, UAE, India, and Jordan both in the full profit and nonprofit sectors. He is a fellow for multiple leadership programs and has trained more than 500 people in various fields. He believes everyone has the potential to make the world a better place if they do work that aligns with their personality and values. He tries to combine the world of technology with social innovation and the world of entrepreneurship with people and community.
