Fill your Social Media Toolbox

Social media isn’t easy. Sure, you can wrap your head around it and use it, but are you using it effectively? You won’t know if you aren’t measuring the results of your efforts.

Learning Objectives

This three-hour workshop will look at two different management tools that can help. We’ve taken the time to break them down to help you use your time as effectively as possible on social media with measurement, campaign management, and analytics that matter. The tools are:

  • MailChimp
  • Hootsuite

Bring your laptop to this interactive session. You will have a chance to compose and schedule posts, and explore the free analytic tools which come with each of these applications.

Who Should Attend
Anyone who works with social media. This includes anyone in your organization who

  • monitors your social media feeds
  • composes posts
  • approves and schedules posts
  • sets goals and measures impact.

Instructors
Bryant McNamara, Initial PR president, spent his early career with Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, and has since moved on to work with Initial Public Relations full-time. Bryant’s understanding of the crucial role that non-profits play in society was sparked through his work with the John Howard Society of Canada and the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association.
Graham Spero, Accounts Director at Initial PR, started his career in PR at a very young age, being thrust to the spotlight as a spokesperson for the War Amps. He has since done a TEDx talk, and worked with the Liberal Government writing social media content for such topics as International Women’s Day. Graham also happens to hold the title as Canada’s fastest para-kayaker, having won at the 2015 Canadian National Championships with one hand.
Marley Lewington, Creative Director of Initial PR, works with clients and partners to develop creative assets to further their mission and achieve goals. This often means creating digital strategies to curate your online presence. She also has extensive experience working with non-profits and small businesses within the Ottawa community.
