Not only is Ottawa the national capital and the seat of the Government of Canada, it is also one of the leading cities in the country for technology industries. This presents Ottawa with a special opportunity for leadership not just in government modernization but also in the ongoing efforts to build Canada a “Silicon Valley North”. What will it take for Ottawa to assume this kind of leadership, and what roles will this entail for the city’s policy community, private sector and research pioneers? Panelists will examine the tech-sector potential of Ottawa from each of these standpoints in an effort to inform one another and progress on this important issue.

The event will take place at the Institute on Governance’s ASPIRE Lab at 60 George Street in the Byward Market. The reception will begin at 5:30. The panel begins at 6:00 and will end promptly at 7:00. A networking event among attendees and speakers will follow.
