Anthony Ertl works as a Consulting Analyst with the Data Service Centre at Statistics Canada. One of his responsibilities is to manage and respond to data requests from large public and private organizations, as well as members of the public, including those from entrepreneurs. Anthony will provide a demonstration on navigating the StatCan website, to show the user how to effectively find what they’re seeking. He will showcase Census (demographic/socio-economic) data; various key economic indicators; and datasets such as Retail Trade, Imports/Exports, Building Permits, Household Spending, Income, and Business Counts. Anthony will also explain how to access more detailed data that is not available as standard, on the web site, but can be produced according to the user’s specifications (subject to confidentiality rules), as a cost-recovery option.
