oPEO 2018 Water Purification Challenge

There is a national crisis of serious shortage of drinking water in many countries, and so this year’s challenge has been to innovate a portable, stand alone and economic water purifier that will convert rain and waste water into drinkable water.

From 18 registered teams of students and engineers, 8 have been shortlisted as finalists for this challenge, and will present their innovative solutions to a panel of judges at this event. From these 8 teams, three winners will be chosen and awarded prizes of $600 (1st prize), $300 (2nd prize), and $100 (3rd prize).

The Otttawa chapter of PEO is inviting all engineers, students, and members of the public to support the competitors of this challenge who will be presenting their innovative solutions at this event.

Our chief guest for the evening will be Dr. Jacques Beauvais, who is the Dean of Engineering at the University of Ottawa.
