About the Speakers

Martin Aass

Martin’s real estate business practice is tenant advocacy: the representation of commercial tenants and purchasers. As a result of unclouded loyalties and a singular focus, Martin provides his clients with significant financial savings and contractual flexibility negotiation.

Martin’s objective is to make the terms of the lease “fit” the business plan of the tenant. With extensive experience as a business owner and exposure to diverse industries, his ability to understand business requirements, and to apply this understanding to customizing a real estate solutions is a major advantage for his clients.

Martin has previously worked for several major high-tech, defence, academic, not-for-profit, traditional office users and industrial tenants within the greater Ottawa market.

Robert Hewitt

Rob has planned and managed a variety of renovation, new construction and specialty projects over the past 8 years in his capacity as Project Manager, General Contractor/Construction Manager, and sub trade specializing in pre-engineered construction. Rob’s career started in the furniture business at the end of the construction cycle to sales and project management pre-engineered wall systems. Rob then went on to manage construction projects as a Contractor and then on the be an owner represented Project Manager. This experience has provided understanding risk and problem-solving strategies at different points in the construction cycle from the beginning to the end.

Rob is responsible for providing the full scope of strategic consulting and project management services on behalf of Cresa clients including: needs assessments and strategic plan development; construction process coordination, project budgeting and scheduling; project team assembly; design review and management; coordination of project consultants, contractors and vendors; contract administration, field observation, furniture & fixture procurement, and relocation management.

Zach Coakeley

Zach joined the Cresa Ottawa office in the fall of 2013. Prior to joining the Ottawa team Zach spent four and a half years as a Financial Advisor with TD Canada Trust where he specialized in real estate secured lending and investments. Zach’s primary focus is to ensure consistent client satisfaction while assisting the tenant in lease negotiations, by incorporating Cresa’s unique and loyal business model.
