For the past eight years, Nick has supported the Ottawa tech sector with non-dilutive financing, advice, and connections. In his current role with the BDC Technology Group, he primarily provides growth capital loans and advisory services to hardware & software companies throughout the region.
Simon Gittens – CANExport & Canadian Trade Commissioner Service
Simon Gittens started with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 1994 and since then has had ten different assignments within the National Capital Region. He has also participated in multiple international trade missions. Simon is currently the Trade Commissioner & Head of the Ottawa Satellite Office, sits on the Certification Accreditation Committee for the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), and has been a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) since 2004.

Karen Klink is the Director of Channel Partnerships and Founder Success on the Outpost team at Communitech. Karen has been with the organization for almost 10 years in various roles including corporate innovation and business development.

Valerie joined Export Development Canada in 2008 following her studies at the University of Ottawa.
She is a Senior Account Manager for the past eight years, most recently supporting Canadian technology companies located in Eastern Ontario. Every day, she identifies and delivers innovative financing, insurance, and risk management solutions designed to help Canadian technology companies expand their business internationally
Lora Rigutto – Forum for International Trade Training
Lora Rigutto, CITP®, is an international business development “Coach”. She has a passion for international trade and many years of experience guiding businesses through the complexities of global business expansion, including more than a decade as Trade Advisor with ProChile – the Trade Commission of Chile in Toronto. She is an adjunct professor teaching a variety of international business management courses and a proud member of the Organization of Women in International Trade – Toronto (OWIT). In 2021, Lora joined the Forum for International Trade Training team as Loyalty & Engagement Manager.
