Keynote speaker:

Claudia Roessler leads the development of strategic partnerships around digital innovation and Agritech solutions within the agriculture ecosystem at Microsoft. She is responsible for driving innovation that helps increase productivity and sustainable practices through technology. She will discuss market dynamics, Microsoft’s investment in agriculture, global use cases, and how local companies can partner.

The keynote will be followed by a panel including:

Kirk Haney is the CEO and Managing Partner of Radicle Growth. Radicle is partnering with Agritech entrepreneurs to bring disruptive innovation to market while leveraging the platform’s global network to accelerate the development of these new technologies. He will provide the investor perspective for Agritech entrepreneurs.

Joel Bouvier is a software development manager with Farm Credit Canada. Joel has been working with Canadian farmers to implement AgExpert, a widely deployed yield management and accounting platform. Joel will discuss challenges farmers are facing with tech solutions and Agritech use cases.

Tim Warland is a program manager with Invest Ottawa. He helps entrepreneurs realize competitive advantage through access to technology resources. Tim will describe access to massive scale servers (CENGN), 5G networks (ENCQOR) and Ottawa’s unique precision agriculture testing capabilities.

Ketan Kaushish is the co-founder and CEO of Ukko Agro, an Agritech startup with a vision to help farmers move toward more sustainable farming methods. Ukko Agro equips growers with solid information for using and tracking pesticides. Ketan will highlight how access to advanced technologies helped to ensure their product was ready for upcoming rollouts.

The panel discussion and audience Q&A will be moderated by Bill McMillan. Bill is a consultant working with early stage start-ups in the Agritech sector.
