Note: This session will build off what was learned in the previous session: Design Thinking and Human Centered Design
In this session you will be introduced to the fundamentals of customer development and value proposition design. Using the value proposition canvas, we will help you develop a structured approach to deal with the unpredictable nature of new markets and guide you on how to iterate on product and market assumptions.
Developed by Steve Blank, the customer development model encourages that more time be spent in the field identifying potential consumers and learning how to better meet their needs. The value proposition canvas, created by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur, is a business strategy tool that helps you visualize your customer strategy and understand key questions to consider when designing your core offer. Combined, they can help you differentiate your organisation by the value you provide to your targets rather than solely by the products or services you provide.
The Centre for Social Enterprise Development (CSED) enables and inspires the development, launch and growth of social enterprises. Our goal is a thriving social enterprise sector that is highly valued as a driver of economic, environmental and social good.
