Come introduce yourself to the worlds most popular programming language: JavaScript! We’ll be hosting workshop covering the basics of JS for people with little to no coding experience, where you’ll get the chance to explore the fundamentals of web development by building a web-based chatroom in the same vein as Twitch or Slack.
You’ll be using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build your app step by step with the help of our instructors, mentors and your workshop peers. The goal of the workshop is to give you an overview of what goes into building a web application, and hopefully spark a passion to learn more!
We’ll be covering:
- JavaScript, including jQuery and Node.js
- HTML and CSS
If you find yourself ahead of the class, we have stretch goals that will help you take your app to the next level with neat features and customization. No coding experience is necessary!
Any laptop computer can be used. You will need to have Google Chrome web browser installed. Everything else will be done entirely in the web browser, you do not need a text editor for this workshop.
