Innovation and Artificial Intelligence in China: Implications for the Canadian Economy

The Canada-China Young Professionals Network (CCYPN) is thrilled to host Sophie Chen, Market Director for the Asia-Pacific region at the Invest Ottawa, to speak on innovation and artificial intelligence in China and the implications for the Canadian economy.

The Middle Kingdom has historically been a leader in technological evolution and continues to make a concerted effort to maintain its position as an innovation powerhouse. China is home to some of the most innovative technology firms in the world, including Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu, and Huawei. China’s increasingly innovative output is having a profound impact on both the global status quo and the ways in which individuals orient their lives.

In this context, CCYPN would like to provide a space for students and young professionals to gain insight into the current innovative environment in China, the opportunities that China’s increasing share in the global market for innovation and AI has created, and the challenges this poses for Canadian businesses.

Join us on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Faculty of Social Sciences building, room 5028, at the University of Ottawa, for this exciting discussion!
