Speaker Bio: Mischa Kaplan

Mischa is a business owner, entrepreneur, consultant, and part-time professor in the School of Business at Algonquin College. As the president of Rainbow Foods and co-founder and managing partner of Brightside Capital Management, Mischa possesses more than a decade of experience leading small and medium-sized organizations. He has been recognized extensively for his efforts in the areas of business development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable business management, being a 2016 « Forty Under 40 » recipient and more recently being selected as one of 32 Canadian entrepreneurs to represent Canada as part of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance delegation to Berlin in summer 2017. A national leader in sustainable business practices, Rainbow Foods won a « Sustainable Retailer » award in early 2016 and became the first « Fair Trade designated » private workplace in Ontario later that year. In addition to his efforts at Rainbow Foods, Mischa has lectured on the benefits and challenges of sustainability to a variety of audiences in Ottawa and across the country.
