The BEYI × Telfer One-Day Venture-Building Capstone is an immersive entrepreneurship experience organized by the Black Entrepreneurship and Youth Initiative (BEYI) in collaboration with the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa.

Taking place on November 7, 2026, the event will bring together aspiring entrepreneurs, students, and emerging business leaders for a hands-on, team-based challenge focused on a real-world housing issue. Participants will work collaboratively to develop innovative business concepts, create business models, explore financial projections, and pitch their ventures to a panel of judges.

The capstone aims to equip young people with practical entrepreneurial skills, foster innovation and collaboration, and encourage the development of sustainable business solutions. The top three teams will receive prizes of $750, $500, and $250, respectively.
