Our Free Trade Agreement with the European Union (the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement or CETA),was signed during Prime Minister Trudeau’s visit to Europe in October 2016, ratified by the European parliament February 15th and may be provisionally implemented during the first half of 2017.
This seminar will explain the content of this major Trade Agreement and what it will mean for Canadian businesses, how to prepare for it and how to benefit from it, focusing on the trade of goods. This session will be of interest to companies and individuals involved or wanting to get involved in international trade, in particular importers and exporters of tangible goods.
Speaker Bio: Christian Sivière
Following an international freight forwarding career of over 30 years in Europe and in Canada, Christian Sivière started an import-export consultancy in May 2010: Solimpex. Solimpex is principally active in two areas: – consulting to help SME’s grow internationally – training on topics related to international trade, such as logistics, international trading terms and customs compliance.
A CPMT accredited trainer (Québec designation), Christian lectures at College Champlain in Montréal, for the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association in Toronto and gives seminars and webinars for other trade organizations. He is a member of the Québec Exporters and Manufacturers Association, the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada, the Belgium-Québec Business Circle, the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Canada, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Canada and the Hong-Kong Canada Business Association.
