Invest Ottawa Celebrates the Launch of 123 Enclave: A Canadian Sovereign Cloud Solution for Defence and Security

Oct 24, 2025

Ottawa, Canada – September 26, 2025 – Invest Ottawa celebrates the launch of 123 Enclave, a Canadian sovereign cloud platform that gives defence and security contractors a faster, cost-effective path to achieving cybersecurity compliance.

Unveiled September 25, 123 Enclave is designed to help Canadian companies meet CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) and CPCSC (Canadian Program for Cyber Security Certification) standards, which are critical requirements for participation in Canadian and allied defence procurement.

“Canadian companies have world-class capabilities, but many are locked out of defence opportunities because compliance is complex, expensive, and time-consuming,” said Craig McLellan, CEO of ThinkOn in a recent release. “Together with 123 Cyber, we’re removing those barriers and giving Canadian innovation a secure foundation to grow.”

“With 123 Enclave, defence suppliers can shorten their compliance journey from years to months,” added Caleb Walker, Director at 123 Cyber. “They gain peace of mind knowing their data is sovereign, secure, and aligned with both U.S. and Canadian defence requirements.”

Strengthening Canada’s Defence and Security Ecosystem

By combining ThinkOn’s sovereign, Canadian-controlled cloud infrastructure with 123 Cyber’s cleared cybersecurity professionals and veteran-led expertise, 123 Enclave provides audit-ready compliance mapping, encrypted storage, vulnerability scanning, and scalable onboarding.

This initiative directly addresses barriers that have limited SME participation in the defence supply chain, offering a solution that protects Canadian intellectual property, strengthens sovereignty, and builds resilience into national security.

Ottawa’s Role in a National Strategy

While designed for national impact, 123 Enclave builds on strengths anchored in Canada’s Capital, home to the headquarters of DND, DRDC, RCMP, CSIS, and CSE, 65 federal research labs, and a growing network of cybersecurity and defence innovators.

With more than 330 defence and security companies employing 10,000 people, Ottawa provides fertile ground for scaling solutions that serve national and allied missions.
