Invest Ottawa is proud to celebrate the success of defence and dual-use technology firm Dominion Dynamics, as the company announces a new partnership with the Arctic Training Centre (ATC).
This initiative will see the Ottawa-based company test next-generation defence technologies in extreme Arctic conditions, ensuring Canadian-built solutions are tested here, hardened here, and ready to lead on the global stage.
This bold step reflects Dominion Dynamics’ ambition to help establish Canada’s next sovereign defence prime, a homegrown company capable of advancing national security, driving global competitiveness, and supporting allies in the world’s most demanding environments.
“We are ultimately planning on building a sovereign defence prime [contractor] for Canada [that] can compete with the American primes and European primes,” according to Mitch Carkner, Dominion Dynamics, in the full BetaKit feature.
“We are incredibly grateful that Dominion Dynamics is building here in Ottawa, a national defence innovation hub,” Invest Ottawa President and CEO Sonya Shorey wrote in a recent post. “Our four-season climate is ideally suited for testing, validating and demonstrating defence and security technologies for all weather and climate conditions, including the Arctic. We are excited to collaborate with Mitch, Eliot and their team as they continue to grow, scale, and deliver significant impact for Canada and beyond.”
