Ottawa’s GBatteries Selected to Join NATO DIANA’s 2026 Cohort

Ottawa, Canada — December 15, 2025 — Invest Ottawa is proud to highlight that GBatteries Energy Canada Inc., an Ottawa-based technology company developing safe, next-generation energy storage products, was recently selected for the NATO DIANA 2026 Challenge Programme Cohort – one of the world’s most competitive programs for dual-use innovation.

One of 150 companies joining the cohort from over 3,600 worldwide applicants, the innovative company was chosen under the Operations in Extreme Environments Challenge Area for its Smart Pulse Charger for All Drone Batteries solution, designed to enable reliable performance of uncrewed systems (UxS) in cold-weather conditions.

The NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) identifies, accelerates, and tests breakthrough technologies with defence and security applications.

Companies accepted into the program gain access to:

  • NATO testing centres and technical expertise

  • Dual-use commercialization support
  • A network of allied innovators and partners
