Ottawa, ON | February 26, 2026 – Canada’s Semiconductor Council (CSC) and Invest Ottawa have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration in attracting semiconductor investment, supporting business expansion, and reinforcing Ottawa’s role within Canada’s growing semiconductor ecosystem.

The partnership aligns with CSC’s broader ecosystem, which positions the Council as a sector-specific national coordination layer for Canada’s semiconductor ecosystem. In a technically complex and nationally distributed industry, CSC acts as a provider of industry-specific insight and expertise, and as a conduit to global semiconductor executive networks, complementing and strengthening the efforts of regional economic development and investment attraction agencies across the country.

As global supply chains rebalance and competition for advanced technology investment intensifies, the agreement establishes a coordinated framework to connect qualified semiconductor companies with Ottawa’s investment, innovation, and commercialization assets.

Under the MOU:

  • CSC will introduce semiconductor and related technology companies exploring expansion opportunities to Invest Ottawa
  • The organizations will hold regular coordination meetings to identify emerging opportunities and align outreach efforts
  • Both parties will amplify relevant initiatives and announcements to strengthen visibility of the regional and national ecosystem
