The City of Ottawa will be hosting the Seventh Annual Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards this fall. The event acknowledges the business success of select individuals who were born outside of Canada and who now make Ottawa their home for their considerable contribution to the Ottawa economy.
A call for nominations for the 2018 Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards has been issued. As the name of the award suggests, we are looking for nominees who embody the entrepreneurial spirit! Do you know an immigrant to Canada who deserves to be recognized for their contributions to the Ottawa economy?
Specifically, we are looking for individuals who have done one or more of the following:
- Have they hired, sourced or purchased locally?
- Do they export goods or services from Ottawa?
- Have they been able to attract tourists and investment to the city?
- Do they mentor other entrepreneurs?
- Do they try and help other businesses succeed by providing their time and resources?
- Are they involved in the Ottawa community?
Using this form, we would like to invite you to nominate up to three (3) individuals from the local community to be recognized for their business success and contribution to the Ottawa economy.
The deadline for nominations is September 28, 2018.
Winners of the 2018 Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards will be announced at a special event this fall.
