Hosted at CU@Kanata, Innovation Morning is a signature event series that unites Carleton University researchers with industry members to explore meaningful solutions to emerging challenges.
Autonomous systems are redefining how machines move, learn, and interact with both the physical and digital worlds.
Join us for our next Innovation Morning on Advancing Autonomy from Robotics to Adaptive Systems — an engaging session exploring the technologies driving intelligent, self-directed machines. Through expert insights and real-world examples, we’ll examine how robotics, adaptive control, and distributed computing are converging to shape the next generation of automation and human-machine collaboration.
Speaker presentations will be followed by an interactive Q&A session and dedicated networking time, providing space for discussion and connection among innovators, researchers, and industry professionals.
Guest Speakers:
Mojtaba Ahmadi
Professor, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Dr. Ahmadi’s research explores the design, control, and application of robotic and mechatronic systems, with a focus on adaptive and assistive technologies. His work spans robotic rehabilitation and human locomotion, machine and biological motion analysis, and the integration of robotics into aerospace systems, flight simulation, and wind-tunnel testing.
Evangelos Kranakis
Chancellor’s Professor, School of Computer Science
Dr. Kranakis’ research examines the algorithmic foundations of distributed and autonomous computing. His work focuses on mobile agent systems that enable intelligent, self-directing software to operate across networks, with broader contributions to algorithmics, communication and sensor networks, and network security.
