Kanata-Carleton Small Business Fair 2019: Connecting Rural and Urban Entrepreneurs

After four years the Kanata-Carleton Small Business Network (KCSBN) is expanding again. You have made this event the most popular of its kind.

Thanks to everyone, we have partnered with the Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI) in Kanata, to host a bigger and better fourth annual Small Business Fair 2019.

We have some amazing small businesses spanning the regions’ urban and rural community of Kanata-Carleton.

They are waiting to be introduced to YOU! 

Keynote Speakers:
MP Karen McCrimmon to open the event,  Minister Mary Ng (via video), Councillor Eli El-Chantiry (Chair of Rural Affairs Committee), Mayor Jim Watson (closing remarks).

Guests of Honour:
Mother of Kanata – Marianne Wilkinson, Councillor Glen Gower, Councillor Allan Hubley and Councillor Jenna Sudds.

Award Winner:
We are delighted to present our Outstanding Local Small Business Award 2019 to the Heart & Soul Cafe owners. Jody & Jim Bowen opened their heart and soul as well as their business to help the community in the aftermath of the Dunrobin tornado.

Partners:
For those of you who are interested in launching and growing your business, we have experts roviding information from Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF), Invest OttawaOffice of the Small & Medieum Enterprises (OSME) and Community Empolyment Resource Center (CERC).

Proceeds:
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Kanata Chinese Seniors Support Centre (KCSSC) & Chrysalis House – a women shelter operated by the West Ottawa Community Resource Center (WOCRC).

Admission & Donations:
Admission is free. Please bring a non-perishable food item in support of the Kanata Food Cupboard. We are also having a silent auction for a local charity, QuickStart Early Intervention for Autism. Items include “Snowfall, Forest Edge”, framed print by John Mlacak. 

Children & Youth:
Free children supervised entertainment corner (age 1.5 to 12) provided by Kanata North Early Learnig Center. ALSO local children and youth entrepreneurs are showcasing their products and unleashing their entrepreneurial spirit!

Parking:
Free parking at the Turkish Community Center Hall and the Montessori School.

VENDORS SELLING
Vendors will be selling products and services at the Fair on a cash only basis

(NO ATM on site)

Snacks and refreshments will be served ON SITE – be our guests
