Speaker:

Adam Tracey is an associate lawyer at Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP, and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. He manages a diverse practice that includes domestic and international patent prosecution across a wide range of technologies, domestic and international trade-mark prosecution, licensing and copyright matters as well as associated litigation, contractual and opinion work related to all areas of IP, entertainment and business law.

Adam’s patent practice involves a significant amount of patent drafting in a broad range of technical areas, from software and mobile communication technology to medical devices to agricultural technology and clean-tech. Adam has also overseen multiple Canadian start-up exits where the acquisition was solely based on the strength of the start-up’s IP portfolio.

As a trademark agent, Adam has extensive experience with all aspects of trademark prosecution and litigation, including Federal Court litigation and management of international trademark portfolios. As a business lawyer, Adam regularly drafts and negotiates licence, software development, collaboration and settlement agreements related to businesses in a wide variety of spaces.
