The Ontario Emerging Jobs Institute, located in Cornwall, Ontario is offering free 10 week bootcamps starting January 14th, 2019 in Agritech and Blended Learning.
Our Agritech Skills program is designed to teach learners about the various ways technology can be used to enhance farmers productivity and efficiency. The curriculum is designed to address the emerging issue of food insecurity. The program will tackle subjects such as weather sensors, IoT farming sensors, better WIFI connectivity, connected dashboards/apps, automated/robotic farm equipment and more.
Our Blended Learning program is designed to prepare advanced learners for niche jobs in the new economy using a combination of in-person and online training. Students will attend in-class soft skills training on Mondays with online learning during the week and have the choice to attend study hall on Fridays to get questions answered from their peers and their instructor. This will help mature students looking to upgrade their skills or those embarking on a second career.
Students can choose to pursue any of the following topics, including Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Autonomous Vehicles, Nanotech, Cleantech, Quantum Computing, Data Science, UX Design, Cybersecurity or Blockchain. The featured soft skills we will be offering in-class include Complex Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Creativity, People Management, Coordinating with Others, Emotional Intelligence, Judgment and Decision-Making, Service Orientation, Negotiation and Cognitive Flexibility.
10 weeks: January 14 to March 22, 2019
Monday to Friday: 10 AM to 3 PM
Thursdays: 4 PM to 6 PM (optional networking activity)
