Shaping an Equitable and Inclusive Post-Pandemic Recovery
COVID-19 and rapid digitization have disrupted Ontario’s economy and labour force. While some sectors thrived, others experienced a need to rapidly adapt to survive.
Hospitality, manufacturing, retail, and construction, for example, took the brunt of the pandemic’s economic impact, which temporarily routed their ranks, highlighting vulnerabilities in supply chains and underlining the need to rethink traditional models of delivery.
With this economic shift came notable labour market disruption. Women, youth, recent newcomers, and racialized Canadians were all particularly impacted. But disruption also brings new opportunities.
The pandemic, coupled with rising digitization, has opened a new era of work that prioritizes continual skill development and workforce evolution.
This February, ICTC is hosting an event that focuses on sectoral changes that arose during the pandemic and discusses the way forward—the opportunities for sectoral transformation across the economy with a focus on key sectors like hospitality, construction, manufacturing, and retail; career opportunities and ways to reanimate workers; and the in-demand skills that will be needed to drive this change.
Featuring keynote presentations and panel discussions with top Canadian thought leaders in business, and the economy, this event builds the bridge to a more prosperous and resilient future.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Key insights, inspiration, Q&A opportunities
- Access to ICTC’s research, resources, and guidance
- Networking lunch with the people who are shaping a prosperous future for Canada
📅 Feb 22 (Wed) 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. EST
