Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing both our personal and professional life. According to Harvard Business Review, in the next 5 to 10 years almost half of all jobs or significant numbers in US could disappear to automations. While the size and depth of the transformation is not 100% clear at this time, the Ai Tsunami expected to impact every Job sector on the planet including health , legal services, transportations, factories, farming, banking, etc . And the speed with which the nature and application grow has garnered universal attention. As such, this is now an issue whose time has come for a closer look and serious dialogue. By embracing diverse, inclusive perspectives and harnessing the power of AI, Canada could gain a competitive edge in the global market.
At “The Age of AI: Inclusive Innovation for Canada’s Global Leadership” will bring together decision makers, private sectors, experts, academics, community leaders, youth for a dialogue on the place of Canada in the digital economy, digital equity within our society and the values and ethics of the development and application of AI, among others.
Sample guiding questions that will be used to facilitate discussions include:
1, How to ensure emerging technologies support nation building by providing opportunities for full and active participation to citizens in all their diversity?
2, How to monitor and manage the ethical use of emerging technologies (AI) through effective checks and balances?
