The Human Advantage in an AI-Powered Workplace

Join the Ottawa Board of Trade and Deloitte for an engaging morning discussion about developing a durable human advantage while incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into your workplace.

As the pace of change accelerates, organizational success will continue to depend on cultivating a human edge. Technology – especially something as increasingly ubiquitous as AI – is replicable. People aren’t. This session explores themes from Deloitte’s 2026 research – surveying more than 9,000 business leaders, including nearly 2,000 executives, across the globe – about the choices they must make to create value, build trust, and unleash human potential in an AI-powered world.

Attendees will gain a clear, human-centred view of AI at work: how to use it to make work better, not just faster. Your organization will learn how to embrace new tools while doubling down on the strengths people bring to the table, like judgment, creativity, and connection. A concluding discussion will cover how to embrace a bold, connected AI strategy that re-imagines the roles of humans, the future of operations, and the technologies that will drive it.

Light breakfast will be served, and participants will have time to network with peers.

Agenda:

Session 1 – Demystify Agentic AI
Demystifying the concept of Agentic AI by grounding it in practical, real-world examples that show how it can meaningfully improve work today.

Session 2 – Human Capital Trends Overview
Deloitte will provide a leader-friendly snapshot of the Human Capital trends shaping the future of work, what they mean for decision’s you’re currently making, and connect these trends to real implications for workforce planning, leadership, culture, and organizational performance.

Key questions to be explored:
1. How do we maximize the value of humans and machines working together?
2. Who’s accountable when both humans and AI are making decisions?
3. How is AI changing our culture?
4. How do we orchestrate capability and capacity at speed?

Group Discussions
Bring your ideas to life in guided table discussions with peers from comparable organizations and a Deloitte facilitator. You’ll compare notes with peers and explore how the trends show up in your day-to-day reality

Practical Takeaways – AI Strategy
The event will conclude with practical guidance on how to move away from fragmented approaches to AI adoption and embrace a bold, connected AI strategy that re-imagines the roles of humans, the future of operations, and the technologies that will drive it. We’ll explore how to put AI at the core of your business, transforming what work needs to be done and how value is created.
