The Quantum Generation: Youth Shaping Technology for Global Good

ICTC’s youth-led panel will bring together emerging researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to explore how the next generation can advance a quantum ecosystem that is inclusive, responsible, and globally accessible. The discussion will address widening access to quantum education and careers, strengthening capacity in underserved regions, fostering international and interdisciplinary collaboration, and connecting quantum innovation to the Sustainable Development Goals.

As the international community convenes for the UN General Assembly, the timeline to achieve the 2030 Agenda demands radical technological acceleration. Quantum technologies are poised to reshape computing, cybersecurity, healthcare, climate science, and sustainable development. As governments and industries accelerate investment in this emerging field, young people must take on a meaningful role in determining how the quantum future is built and who benefits from it. This youth-led panel will bring together emerging researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to explore how the next generation can advance a quantum ecosystem that is inclusive, responsible, and globally accessible. The discussion will address widening access to quantum education and careers, strengthening capacity in underserved regions, fostering international and interdisciplinary collaboration, and connecting quantum innovation to the Sustainable Development Goals. The conversation will ultimately position youth not simply as future beneficiaries of quantum technologies but as active contributors to their development, governance, and application. The session will highlight youth perspectives on responsible innovation, equitable access, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the policies and investments needed to build quantum capacity across borders, delivering meaningful benefits for people and planet.
