Background
March 8th is International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity and brings groups around the world together to celebrate women’s achievements and rally for women’s equity.
Seven years ago, we were inspired by this initiative and motivated to increase our collective impact in Canada’s Capital with partners in our region, across Canada and worldwide. So, we launched International Women’s Month (IWM).
