Background
March 8th is International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Each year, groups around the world come together to celebrate the achievements of women and/or rally for women’s equity.
Six years ago, we were inspired by this initiative and motivated to increase our collective impact in Canada’s Capital with partners in our region, across Canada and worldwide. So, we launched International Women’s Week (IWW).

We’re calling on all people, teams, and organizations who believe in our mission to inspire, equip and empower women leaders in every professional sphere.
We want folks from every walk of life and sector engaged and working collaboratively to expedite change. This includes champions, allies, collaborators, and community members! We need to work together to drive long-term and sustainable change.
